Morte / Death -- Gibran

Morte

Na profundeza de suas esperanças e desejos reside seu conhecimento silente do além;

Death

Then Almitra spoke, saying, "We would ask now of Death."
And he said:
You would know the secret of death.
But how shall you find it unless you seek it in the heart of life?
The owl whose night-bound eyes are blind unto the day cannot unveil the mystery of light.
If you would indeed behold the spirit of death, open your heart wide unto the body of life.
For life and death are one, even as the river and the sea are one.
In the depth of your hopes and desires lies your silent knowledge of the beyond;
And like seeds dreaming beneath the snow your heart dreams of spring.
Trust the dreams, for in them is hidden the gate to eternity.
Your fear of death is but the trembling of the shepherd when he stands before the king whose hand is to be laid upon him in honour.
Is the shepherd not joyful beneath his trembling, that he shall wear the mark of the king?
Yet is he not more mindful of his trembling?
For what is it to die but to stand naked in the wind and to melt into the sun?
And what is it to cease breathing, but to free the breath from its restless tides, that it may rise and expand and seek God unencumbered?
Only when you drink from the river of silence shall you indeed sing.
And when you have reached the mountain top, then you shall begin to climb.
And when the earth shall claim your limbs, then shall you truly dance.

A dor ainda persiste.
A mágoa, o medo, o peso
Dentro do peito,
Sufocando a garganta.
Paciência, trabalho, dissolução.
Continuar, seguir em frente,
Sentindo.

Pain still persists.
Grief, fear, weight
Within the chest,
Suffocating the throat.
Patience, work, dissolution.
To continue, to go on,
Feeling.

Escada

Escada

Pegar, sentir, soltar
Deixar voltar

Desembaraçar
Dos tentáculos do abismo
Chegar, agarrar, levar

Trazer
Prazer
Elevar

Caminhar no próximo patamar

A morosidade antes da travessia/The tarrying before crossing

Confusão.
Uma bagunça.
Letargia.
Tristeza profunda.
A prisão de mim mesmo.
Eu sou o homem universal –
Dormente
Perdido
Esquecido.
Galgo as paredes do abismo,
Mas paro para descansar.
Lento, assisto os dias passar,
A barba crescer.
Solidão, melancolia, escuridão.
Romantismo tardio da periferia capitalista.
Sou o erro andante,
A falha no sistema.
Procuro a aurora,
Mas desanimo na fraqueza.
Eu sou o mundo,
Constato.
Sinto a força e a vontade
Da minha responsabilidade,
Levanto pra cagar.

Confusion.
A mess.
Lethargy.
Deep sadness.
The prison of myself.
I am the universal man―
Dormant
Lost
Forgotten.
I climb the walls of the abyss,
But stop to rest.
Slow, I watch the days pass,
The beard grow.
Loneliness, melancholy, darkness.
Late romanticism of the capitalist periphery.
I am the walking mistake,
The failure in the system.
I seek dawn,
But dismay in weakness.
I am the world,
I ascertain.
I feel the force and the will
Of my responsibility,
I get up to shit.

Isto é Blake/This is Blake

The ancient Poets animated all sensible objects with Gods and Geniuses. calling them by the names and adorning them with properties of woods, rivers, mountains, lakes, cities, nations and whatever their enlarged & numerous senses could percieve.
And particularly they studied the genius of each city & country, placing it under its mental deity.
Till a system was formed, which some took advantage of & enslav’d the vulgar by attempting to realize or abstract the mental deities from their objects: thus began Priesthood.
Choosing forms of worship from poetic tales.
And at length they pronounced that the Gods had orderd such things.
Thus men forgot that All deities reside in the human breast.

A man is rich in proportion to the number of things he can afford to let alone. Thoreau (1817-1862)

3 poemas/3 poems

Plantas sobem crescem entremeando-se
por estruturas metálicas enferrujadas.

Abandono as letras pelo vento.

No fundo do abismo,
olho nos olhos do Leviatã.
Ele não me engole.

Plants go up grow up interweaving
through rusty metallic structures.

I abandon the letters by the wind.

In the bottom of the abyss,
I look in the eyes of Leviathan.
It does not swallow me.

O incompreensível
se esgueira pelas sombras
da sala.

A luz de fora entra pouca
pelas janelas semiabertas.

O incompreensível flutua no ar,
trilha os fios elétricos pelo chão frio;
estala... se aquieta...
Respira.

The incomprehensible
sneaks by the shadows
of the room.

The light from the outside enters dim
through the semi-open windows.

The incomprehensible floats on air,
treads electric wires by the cold floor;
cracks... quiets down...
Breathes.

O caminho da peregrinação
opera a transmutação essencial
em duplo sentido:
de fora para dentro,
de dentro para fora;
do corpo à alma,
da alma ao corpo.

O profundo silêncio da escuridão
gradualmente irradia o conforto
da Eternidade.

A instabilidade precede o fortalecimento,
o movimento no repouso aflora.

Eu sinto, eu vivo, eu me fixo
no eixo
do Universo.

Agradeço.

The path of the pilgrimage
works the essential transmutation
in two ways:
from without to within,
from within to without;
from the body to the soul,
from the soul to the body.

The deep silence of darkness
gradually irradiates the comfort
of Eternity.

Instability precedes strenghtening,
movement in repose appears.

I feel, I live, I fix myself
in the axis
of the Universe.

I thank.
